In the years spanning junior high and high school, Cooper had a friendly but serious competition with a friend over who could be the best musician, and who could play the most instruments.  This resulted in Cooper being able to effectively play multiple instruments, such as sax, keyboard, flute, bass, harmonica, and vocals.  Cooper went on to study at the Berklee College of Music, majoring in recording and arranging but also studying sax, bass, and piano, in addition to other areas of focus.  Cooper graduated from Berklee with a degree in Contemporary Writing and Production in 2009.

After Berklee, he performed in many bands on saxophone, and was a featured arranger in many settings.

Cooper co-founded the trio Samsaya in Buenos Aires in 2012, where he was able to use all of his doubling abilities.  Samsaya completed a full-length album, which Cooper co-produced with the other members in 2014.  Samsaya was contracted with Celebrity Cruiselines and Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas.

Cooper has his own cabaret show entitled A Public Saxophone and Other Bedtime Stories.  He has also been featured as an arranger on cruise ships for headliner shows, including Robert McFletcher-Jones’ LOVE.  As well,he has an electronic show, adding DJ aspects and to all the instruments he can play.
